Making the most of Today

Why does it seem so difficult at times to truly enjoy Sunday when it's the last day of the weekend? The day I should be kicking back with a drink in hand, enjoying the remainder of my time before the hecticity of Monday begins.

Instead, I often find myself meloncholy and thinking of the week to come. Carpool daily, kids with birthday parties and get togethers, others starting school. The hubby gone to work all day, leaving the hubbub of busyness up to me to handle.

It's a cycle I've tried to break myself of. Tried to tell myself to live in the moment, to enjoy the peace and quiet to the fullest, refuel, reload, and get set for Monday. Still as Sunday morning rolls around I find myself rushing around to prepare for the week to come, in essence stealing the last of my peace and quiet. In the end Sunday ends up becoming one more day of the busy week.

Today I caught it early, so now I'm going to make a cup of tea, reach for a good book and let myself take the afternoon because tomorrow will come when it does but until then, I'm still off the clock.

If you haven't yet, take a moment for yourself today just to breathe or relax. Tomorrow will still be there after all, want it or not. All we really have is now and it's going, going, gone...
